"Why don't we just stop the problem before it happens?" Kashe holds a paw up contemplatively. "If we combine our efforts, we could smack this mountain around until it can't drop an avalanche in the first place. There's a ton of ways we could do that, even, with any kind of magic."

"While it would be handy to combine our efforts, I believe it may be best to plan in case we can't for some reason," Sezzeqh suggests. "For instance, alone, I can shift the ice and snow of the mountain enough to redirect the path of the avalanche. We could then alert the specific area of the need to evacuate, and even choose to redirect to a location with the lowest amount of civilians."

"I'm afraid I don't have any ideas on elemental uses," Torte shivers despite themself. "I volunteer to assist in transporting those evacuating. Whether it be marking a route or even finding a scattering of vehicle-owners if we need to move fast."

"Hey guys, I'm basically a meteorologist," Loyal crosses their arms and grins widely. "I can get my eyes on the sky while you decide, watch the clouds and give you the heads-up before you're outta time. Could teach the newbies some of the skills too, if they wanna come along."

"If we can't stop it from happening, I might like to aid Sezzeqh in redirection," Zhaya nods politely as she speaks. "With a bit of exploration and research, I can determine which potential point of impact would be least damaged by an avalanche."

"My ring would be most useful post-evacuation," Fang's voice crackles through their facemask. "Cleanup duty. We're hardworking, good folks, just... not so good in crowds, you see? If the civilians want to join in, we have spare safety gear for them so that they don't become ill, but if it's all the same to you, we're likely to go without gear ourselves. It's bulky, we can work faster without it. The radiation disperses fast, so the village or town we clean won't be affected."

"I don't have anything to contribute on the elemental front," Junia muses. "But whatever the rest of ya pick, I think we should put some extra hands into the evacuation. Maybe the 'ring you've scared up here can come along with me to evacuate the settlements at the bottom of the mountain."

Tunnels:

The ring of volunteers being led to the Tunnels is led by Yah Racha, Kashe already far ahead, tending to their charges. The scattering plods ahead at a steady marching pace as the group enters the literal tunnels that house the headquarters of the faction, marked by a minecart's rails, the cart itself somewhere inside.

"Are you ready?" Yah Racha says with a friendly flair to the group. "I suppose you'll finally find out why Kashe is so bloody loud!"

What

You can barely think the question before a cart rushes by, its wheels shrieking and sparking on the tracks, and the sound of mining resumes, though you were never aware that it had ever stopped. There must have been a lull as the Tunnels charges loaded a cart with ores. Kashe stands ahead, precariously perched atop a stalagmite, barking orders. Yah Racha chuckles, placing a paw on the cave wall.

"They have to be to be heard down here," Yah Racha snorts. You're pretty sure this is a running joke down in the tunnels.

"YOU DOWN THERE!" Kashe booms! "We in the tunnels are known for bein' miners - and, well, we are, but truth be told, we supply pretty near anything! Grab what's useful and throw it in a cart, yeah?"

[If Tunnels are chosen and the 3rd optional prompt is performed: player receives 5x Iron and 3x Bread]

Canopy:

The Underground Forest is one of the greenest places in all of Sxriix, and the most varied. Heading down, one encounters more grassy plateaus and buttes, then the massive canyon itself stretches on, with a forest stretching around the equator of Sxriix stored within. Buildings, villages, and research facilities are dotted through the forest, as well as treehouses higher up in the literal canopy.

Your scattering of volunteers is led to Zhaya and Sezzeqh in the facility. Zhaya looks up and smiles at your arrival, while the blind old Ixi beside her hunches over a high-tech display, their pawpads pressed to a Sxriix-modified Braille display.

"Hello, friend." Sezzeqh is the one to speak out of the two quiet Ixi before you. "I believe Zhaya required assistance in data collection. I'm presently going over what we already have, though it's a touch slow-going."

"Ah, yes," Zhaya chuckles, picking up a tablet beside her. You wonder if you can borrow it while you're here. "While you're down in our facility today, could you check some of the plant life in the perimeter and scan it, or perhaps take photographs? Maybe just input or write down data? I'd like some extra hands to make certain everything is coming along and growing on schedule."

[If Canopy is chosen and the 3rd optional prompt is performed: player receives 5x Berries and 3x Herbs]

Atmosphere:

"Thank you all for joining me today in going down the length of one human block to join Torte!" Loyal proclaims, after walking about five hundred steps from the exit of the hall to meet a specific Ixi in an incredibly nondescript location.

"Yeah," Torte looks kind of uncomfortable with the crowd. "How are you? 'Sup?"

"Torte isn't big on crowds," Loyal sheepishly explains. "So uh, now that you're all here, we're going to need you to leave."

what

"Both of us specialize in part in cartography," Torte contributes. "We'd love it if you all could cover as much ground as possible. So, explore Sxriix to your heart's content. Have a good time with it."

[If Atmosphere is chosen and the 3rd optional prompt is performed: player receives 3x Spices and 5x Leather]

Galaxy:

The directions given to your scattering lead you to a mountain range to the south. After a climb and a scramble up the rocks and cliffs, you see a metallic facility on the horizon. Looks like the location you were meant to head for, definitely.

Inside, you find Fang and Aulik waiting for you, Fang in their hazmat gear.

"Hey, newbies," Fang's gruff voice rings our as Aulik works on a towering metallic... is that a starship? "I hope you don't feel too amazed by this hunk of junk - it was a beaut once, but it's broken down."

"I can handle it," Aulik's voice is high and light, at contrast with Fang's voice and how they're wailing on a broken plate of steel with a sledgehammer. "But I'd welcome any help you could give if you'd like to pitch in."

"We could use any help you could give around here patching things up," Fang shrugs. "There are other broken ships around, as well as some functional ones in the back that need some tune-ups."

Are they asking you to do what you think they're doing?

"It's literally rocket science, newbie."

[If Galaxy is chosen and the 3rd optional prompt is performed: player receives 3x Science Kit and 5x Iron]

Phone Home is a very open-ended single prompt! Draw or write about your Ixi exploring space, preferably on a spacecraft. The only requirement is that they must encounter some problem or difficulty, whether it be an external issue (such as asteroids, space pirates, another planet's atmosphere) or internal (argument with crew, hardware failure on ship, medical condition).

COMBAT

"Think you can take it?" Kashe grunts, holding a wound on their side. "Reinforcements are coming. We only need to hold it off until they get here. If we take it down ourselves, it'll be a helluva story down the line, but don't get cocky. We can't replace you."

This mode uses the Combat battle mode Story Mode Boss Battles. You will have to fight the Eldritch Creature. You do not have to defeat it, or deal more damage than it, you only have to survive all 10 rounds and not be knocked out by it, though defeating it before round 10 will end the battle early. Kashe will be joining you, their moves will be input by an admin.

If you are defeated, you can try again without another art entry!

--

EVACUATION

"This isn't gonna hold forever!" Loyal shouts from the shield generator. "Get the civvies to safety with Aulik!"

This mode plays like a more traditional Story Mode prompt - draw or write about your Ixi getting the civilians to safety somehow - fighting the monster off, distracting it, running with them, etc. You will receive a reply with a response to your choice of action, and you must draw or write about a followup to the response. (Fullbody, color, and background OR 600+ words) You will receive a second reply and a third prompt, to which you must draw or write a third and final piece. (Fullbody, color, and background OR 600+ words) With the completion of the third piece, the chapter will be complete!

If you can't come up with a response to the prompt you're provided, you may ask for a new one - also, do know that you don't have to base your entire response around it so long as you address the prompt somehow. We'll probably appreciate creative interpretations!

--

RIFT DIPLOMACY

That's right, you're pretty sure Fang got you here. You glance back and see that the monster's legs are stuck in the rift behind you. Maybe if this rift leads back to Fang, or whoever that was, they can drag this thing back to the void...?

You crawl up to the side of the void and dip a paw in. You're not so sure it was Fang's voice anymore. You hear it again.

"Fang is here."

In Rift Diplomacy mode, you can ask the Rift and the creature beyond it five questions. The questions must be accompanied by an image or a piece of literature, however, only the first image needs to follow the usual image/word count requirements listed above. Entries 2 through 5 do not require a background and can be waist-up (if image), and can be a 200+ word blurb (if literature).

After the five questions, you must answer the rift with one thing you have learned. If you are correct, the Rift will honor you and contain the beast, saving the civilians.

The Rift is allowed to be vague and dodgy, but your final answer is as well, so long as it is clever. Your questions can be strange, but keep them roughly PG-13 or so. The Rift doesn't want to know about your love life.

LAWFUL

369_tOwvdRuLsv.png

You approach the ambassador, item in hand, and wave it at them, catching their eyes before they leave. They perk up, tipping two out of three heads at you as they see a new individual holding the item they were certain they had seen their target carrying.

You turn the item in, telling the three-headed ambassador that you thought it was probably the right thing to hand this in before someone else found this on the floor and kept it. Realization hits their eyes, likely coming to the same conclusion you did, that it fell out of the other Ixi's hands during the struggle.

"Thank you for your honesty," The middle head speaks, the others staying silent but looking to you with kind expressions. "Can I give you anything to make this worth your time? I try to give back to the honest Ixi of the community as a thank-you gift - just some trinkets I've come across, but I've heard that they're fairly rare or at least well-valued."

NEUTRAL

You're not sure you want to give this thing to any of these people in this situation. This thing looks valuable, if you give it to the ambassador it's not like they'll pay you, and who's to say that they won't just suspect you as well? The other Ixi was shifty, so why trust them, they might not give you what it's worth in trade.

You make sure the cerberus still hasn't seen you, turn around, and just walk away, your new, valuable item in tow. You're going to find someone you trust to tell you what this is worth, or maybe find out yourself.

LAWFUL

370_4FtCTcaZQf.png

Who was that slippery Ixi?

You immediately step away from the cerberus, taking side streets to the alley you saw the lithe stranger duck into. You find another sewer grate there, and no one in the alley. Remembering how the stranger entered this situation, you slide open the grate and duck down into the tunnel.

Several twists and turns of tunnel navigation later, you make it up to a quiet location, finding the slippery stranger from earlier nursing their bruises. You pass them the item, giving them an 'I think this is yours' comment for flourish.

"Many thanks, stranger." They say, giving a small curtsy and a toothy grin. "My name is Corona. I apologize for our very... tumultuous meeting earlier. Don't hold it against the cerberus. They have their thoughts about how items like these should be distributed, and I have mine. I believe that they should be freely available, but the population should be aware of what they can do. That said, would you like to know how to utilize this?"

Turn in your art for tokens!

Details

A token, unless specifically stated otherwise, refers to a copper token!

Link your B-NOMALY art/lit here and get currency for drawing buns! Please include the art piece itself as well as all B-NOMALIES involved (the masterlist entry, if possible!)

You don't have to count your tokens yourself, @Anarchisme will do it, but if you want to calculate it, here's a guide!

The Basics:

Headshot:
10 tokens

Waist-up:
20 tokens

Fullbody:

30 tokens

Bonuses:

Color: +10 tokens
Shading: +10 tokens
Background (simple, abstract shapes, etc): +10 tokens
Background (complex, depicting a location with some form of depth to it): +20 tokens

Others' B-NOMALIES: +100 tokens
Both recipient and artist get the 100 tokens!
Gifts, trades, commissions, collabs, etc all count for this.

Animated (simple): +15 tokens
blinking, glow effects, etc.
Animated (complex): +100 tokens
walk cycles, full body movement, talking, anything not so simple!

Chasm-Connected Canon Creature Bonus: +15 Tokens per canon creature
Canon creatures to the B-NOMALIES' universe are listed in the Chasm-Connected bestiary! This does not include B-NOMALIES for obvious reasons, or anything checked off as "Rixixi Only"! This stacks!

Literature: +25 tokens for every 100 words.
I will accommodate room for error! I know different word counters can give different results - if you tell me you got 1,005 words and I only see 998, I'll take your word for it. If you tell me you got 1,005 words and I only see 920, I'll probably ask you what happened there. V:

If using a base or otherwise re-using lineart (or other parts of the art), tokens will only be awarded for what is original to the new piece!
For instance, take these two pieces - the first use of the lines and background is on the left.

 vs

The second image would only receive the color bonus for The OUBLIETTE - Magpie Anarchie is not significantly changed and the background was already present in the first image. (Silhouettes counting as lineart in this case)

Some Examples:

285 tokens

+20 Waist-up
+10 Color
+10 shading
+100 Other B-NOM
=140
x2=280
+5 Simple Background

The background counts as simple due to only having a detailed foreground aspect. If there was a clearer wall back there it could count as complex.
Other B-NOM is meant to count for another person's B-NOMALY specifically, but is counted here as an example and due to Seraph and Steele being NPCs. They belong to no bun...

50 tokens

+30 fullbody
+10 color
+10 shading
=50
