Traits

Albinism (+Al) (Uncommon)

Species: Rixixi

A complete lack of pigment in the rixixi. Albinistic Ixi appear as nearly pure-white, markings can show faintly as extremely pale shades of the original base coat. Brightly-colored markings like Lunar and Bioluminescence can be somewhat brighter and more saturated, but should remain light in color. Skin and frills should be pale, and eyes are most commonly shades of pale blues, lavenders, reds, and even white.

Albinism can be pure white, with any amount of markings hidden or showing:
Rixixi Albinism Full by magmatixi

Or it can be a tint of the base coat - markings can be hidden via this form of albinism as well. (It is a big help if you let us know in design approval if you've done so!) Albinism must always be extremely pale, no matter what the original base coat is.
Rixixi Albinism Midnight by magmatixi
Midnight base.

Markings that show as lighter or darker than the base coat should be subtle and pale.
Rixixi Albinism Laser by magmatixi
Laser base with Sable.

Markings that can be any color may be bright, but should still be light colors, and should not be neons.
Rixixi Albinism Latte by magmatixi
Latte base with Accents, Lunar, and Daggerstabbed.

Additionally:

  • Showing skin tone peeking through areas of thin fur is legal!
  • Skin should generally be pale, but can still take on marking colors and the like as per normal skin/frill/nails rules.
  • Eyes should be shades of pale purples, blues, pale colors light enough to be considered white or off-white, and assorted reds.

Presentation with Contradicting Mutations:

Albinism and Melanism:

Albinism and Melanism presenting together cancel out Albinism's skin/eye/marking color requirements.

When Albinism and Melanism are both present in a geno, any of the following approaches can be taken:

-One mutation presents visibly, and one is a genetic carrier only. (At least one mutation has to present visibly in this case.)

-Albinism presents darker/subtler than average:
Rixixi Albinism Melanism 1 by magmatixi
Sunbeam base.

-Melanism presents lighter/subtler than average:
Rixixi Albinism Melanism 2 by magmatixi
Sunbeam base.

-Both Albinism and Melanism appear, in cloudy patches:
Rixixi Albinism Melanism 3 by magmatixi
Sunbeam base.

The edges of this must be soft and blended so as to not be confused for Tortoiseshell, Chimera, or other similar markings/mutations.

E. Porphyria (+EryPor) (Common)

Species: Rixixi

Short for Erythropoietic Porphyria, this mutation is caused by a deficit in certain molecular components that causes blood cells to break down and build up waste products in other parts of the body, such as the teeth and bones. That is to say, the teeth, nails, and any bony mutations of the Rixixi are blood-colored.

While Erythropoietic Porphyria is a medical problem in real life, and can affect Rixixi negatively in lore, this will not result in rad sicknesses being rolled due to it being present in a breeding.
Please feel free to apply realistic limitations or ignore them as you please for your own characters! Play the game however you like.

E. Porphyria, by default, appears as a red or brownish-red coloration to the teeth:
Rixixi Eryporphyria Example 2 by magmatixi

This color can change if the Rixixi's blood color is different for any reason:
Rixixi Eryporphyria Example 3 by magmatixi

The coloration is not limited to the teeth - nails can be blood-colored as well, as well as any mutation that could logically be considered made of bone or a similar material such as Horns, Problems (the teeth, bone, and skull layers), Translucence/Partial Translucence, the spines of Tail Spike, and so on.
Rixixi Eryporphyria Example1 by magmatixi

Additionally:

  • While (in real life) Erythropoietic Poryphyria can cause the affected areas to glow under UV lights, this typically will not show up on the import. It will show up if Ultraviolet +UV is present, and even without Ultraviolet, feel free to show glowing teeth/nails/bones in art, and even include a reference in your Ixi's Personality section!
  • It is not mandatory to alter the color of anything but the teeth of the Ixi.

Fog (+Fog) (Uncommon)

Species: Rixixi
The Rixixi's pelt is heavily desaturated. Skin and markings also take on a duller tone.

Fog does not have specific swatches, instead, it should take the original base coat and lower the saturation anywhere between heavily and very noticeably. The value, brightness, and hue should not be altered much if at all, but can be slightly modified to improve the final result of the color.

Plum - Skyburn - Seaglass - Steel

Additionally:
  • Markings should also be desaturated - Markings that are lighter or darker than base should be lighter or darker than the altered base, markings that appear as any base should appear as a desaturated base, and markings that appear as any color should appear as duller colors.
  • The only bases that can appear completely desaturated (with no tint) with Fog are Arctic, Steel, and Midnight.
  • Fog desaturates the skin tone as well.
  • Fog has no effect on eye color.

Presentation with Contradicting Mutations:

Neon and Fog:

Neon and Fog presenting together cancel out Fog's skin/marking color requirements.

When Neon and Fog are both present in a geno, any of the following approaches can be taken:

-One mutation presents visibly, and one is a genetic carrier only. (At least one mutation has to present visibly in this case.)

-Neon presents less saturated than average:
Rixixi Fog Neon 2 by magmatixi
Lilac base.

-Fog presents brighter than average:
Rixixi Fog Neon 1 by magmatixi
Lilac base.

-Both Neon and Fog appear, in cloudy patches:
Rixixi Fog Neon 3 by magmatixi
Lilac base.

The edges of this must be soft and blended so as to not be confused for Tortoiseshell, Chimera, or other similar markings/mutations.

Examples:

Almel 0098 by magmatixi
Almel is an example of Albinism and Melanism, but this is still a good example of the cloudy blending method in shape.

Drake Scales (+DrakScl) (Uncommon)

Species: Rixixi
Drake Scales is a physical mutation that alters the texture of parts of the Ixi - as such, markings and the base coat should show 'through' it, appearing mostly the same as they would without Drake Scales. The appearance of the markings can change somewhat due to Drake Scales in a few ways:
  • Markings can distort to match the shape of the scales, and stretch (even slightly out of range - but this should be slight) to make sense with Drake Scales that break the original lineart.
  • A shine can be applied to the scales.

Custom Drake Scales:

Thoriane 0418 by magmatixi

Mutation Stations can change the placement of Drake Scales on the body, and increase or decrease them. Drake Scales are considered a 3D and physical mutation and can break lineart.
  • Drake Scales should be visible no matter what.
  • Drake Scales can be increased to the point that they cover the entire body - this would require 3 Mutation Stations due to fullbody coverage, but it's legal.

Drake Scales and Scaled (nScl/SclScl):

Scaled is considered 2D and a marking but can be headcanoned freely as actual scales (just flatter in texture as far as import art goes). Drake Scales, even when custom, should remain 3D in texture and stand out as a physical mutation.

When appearing together, they can appear completely separate, and/or Scaled can combine with Drake Scales to color them in part or full.

Drakespines (+Drake) (Uncommon)

Species: Rixixi

Extra spines and frills gathering on assorted parts of the Rixixi's body. Sometimes appear without the frill.

  • Can be any color lighter or darker than the base coat, can be any marking color on the Rixixi, can be any natural skin tone color, or can be any color on the base coat swatch.
  • Markings in the area can extend to this mutation.

Drakespines can present with or without the frills included in the mutation, it does not require a scarification kit to remove them!

An alternate design pack exists for this mutation:
Primal Blood Design Pack

Frill (+Frll) (Uncommon)

Species: Rixixi

A frill around the neck, capable of flaring out at will.

  • Can be any color lighter or darker than the base coat, can be any marking color on the Rixixi, can be any natural skin tone color, or can be any color on the base coat swatch.
  • Markings in the area can extend to this mutation.

This mutation had stricter color rules in the past - as a result, any users who have a Rixixi with Frill (+Frll) uploaded before December 24th 2019 may update their design for free at Import Updates  (a Restyling Laser is not required)

Horns (+Hrn) (Uncommon)

Vestigial Wings (+Vwing) (Uncommon)

Species: Rixixi

Webbed and bat-like in nature, but small, these wings are not capable of true flight.

  • Wings are considered an extra appendage and markings in-range can spread to them. Markings that cover points can treat wings as if they were another limb.

Wings with webbing have specific rules:

  • The webbing itself is considered a skin zone, and can be any color lighter or darker than the base coat, can be any marking color on the Rixixi, can be any natural skin tone color, or can be any color on the base coat swatch.
  • The opacity of the webbing can be freely altered as long as it is still clearly visible.
  • Markings can still spread to the webbing, but need to be present on the body somewhere - they cannot only appear on the skin unless the marking specifically says otherwise (eg. Flourish).

Light blue: Markings must appear somewhere here.
Medium blue: Markings can appear somewhere here, as long as they also appear in the light blue zone.

Combining Wing Types

If you have multiple wing types on a geno, you're allowed to have a pair of both of them display without having Archangel present.

Alternate design packs exist for this mutation:
Alternate Vestigial Wings Design Pack
Domestic Horns and V.Wings Expansion Pack

Wide Vents (+Wvent) (Uncommon)

Species: Rixixi

The Ixi's natural vents are constantly open and do not contract to the point of being closed and giving the illusion of being invisible.

  • Can be any legal flesh or skin color for the Rixixi!
  • Markings can appear on this mutation as long as they could also appear on skin.
  • Can show the Rixixi's blood color on part or all of the mutation if desired - by default, Rixixi blood is red, but it can be modified by certain markings and mutations.

Alternate design packs exist for this mutation:
Primal Blood Design Pack

Tail Spike (+Tspi) (Uncommon)

Species: Rixixi

A weapon on the end of the Ixi's tail.

  • Spines and webbing, if present, can be any color lighter or darker than the base coat, can be any marking color on the Rixixi, can be any natural skin tone color, or can be any color on the base coat swatch.
  • Markings in the area can extend to this mutation.

Alternate design packs exist for this mutation:
Primal Blood Design Pack

Multiple Tail Mutations:

When multiple tail mutations present in the same geno without Multi Tail, any of the following approaches can be taken:

-The tails can be edited so that they all appear at once. As long as the tails appear at roughly their original size and shape, no Mutation Station is required. Lenience is given for size/shape here, as tails may need to be shrunk to better show the other tails, etc.

-Parts of the tails can be taken and pieced together into one tail - eg. Mackerel's fins on a Whip Tail, a Tail Spike on a Bushy Tail, etc. A mutation station is only required here for heavy customization.

-One tail can show, leaving other tails in the geno as invisible carriers. All tails in the geno can still pass in breeding, but they do not have to show in the design if there's just too many tails to work with.

Polydactyl +PlyD (Common)

Species: Rixixi

MORE THUMBS

  • Markings in the area can extend to this mutation. Markings that cover limbs can also affect Polydactyl.
  • Additional thumbs can be added. Thumbs may be moved around on the hand to create strange types of hand.
  • The dewclaws on the back feet are optional and can be removed without a scarification kit.

Gills (+Gil) (Uncommon)

Species: Rixixi

An aquatic adaption, this mutation causes the rixixi to have gills along their neck, with frills. Can take on the color of any base coat.

  • Can take on the color of any base coat or any marking found on the Rixixi.
  • The opacity of this mutation can be freely altered as long as the mutation is still clearly visible.

Whorl (+Whr) (Uncommon)

Species: Rixixi

What a wonderful whorl of teeth you have! Looks bizarre and rather intimidating.

  • Should match the color of the Rixixi's existing teeth.
  • Gums can be any color lighter or darker than the base coat, can be any marking color on the Rixixi, can be any natural skin tone color, or can be any color on the base coat swatch.

Mackerel (+Mcr) (Uncommon)

Species: Rixixi

Fish tail, complete with alternate frill!

  • The fins of Mackerel can take on the color of any base coat or any marking found on the Rixixi.
  • Markings in the area can extend to this mutation.

Fogshard (+Fshr) (Uncommon)

Species: Rixixi

Parts of the Ixi are covered in crystallized protrusions and horns, can cause the skin and eyes to glow.

  • Can be any color. Is typically bright, but does not have to be.
  • The mutation itself is bioluminescent, and can optionally cause the skin and eyes to glow.
  • The opacity of this mutation can be freely altered as long as the mutation is still clearly visible.

A guide on custom Fogshard (mainly shapes and glow) exists:
Short Fogshard Tutorial (with bees)

Fanged (+Fan) (Uncommon)

Species: Rixixi

Not only does the ixi have enlongated canines, they have eight enlongated canines instead of four.

  • Should match the color of the Rixixi's existing teeth.

Beak (+Bek) (Uncommon)

Species: Rixixi

Commonly found in rixixi who migrated to Nskanetis and got up to all sorts of trouble with mad science. A hard, translucent beak now protects the ixi's snout from harm, with 6 nostril-like slits to breathe through.

  • Can be any color lighter or darker than the base coat, can be any marking color on the Rixixi, can be any natural skin tone color, or can be any color on the base coat swatch.
  • Markings in the area can extend to this mutation.
  • The opacity of this mutation can be freely altered as long as the mutation is still clearly visible - this applies to the design pack beaks as well as the default Aexent-style beak.

Alternate design packs exist for this mutation:
Beak and Horn Expansion Pack

Fringehead (+Fri) (Uncommon)

Species: Rixixi

When closed, it just looks like an odd fish mouth, but this jaw can stretch open wide to wild proportions.

  • Whether the Open or Closed variant is used is a design choice - it does not depend on genetics or change how the Rixixi can appear in art. In fact, optionally, both an Open and Closed variant can be designed, with one being the import image and one linked in the description.
  • The Open Fringehead Variant is considered skin and therefore can be any color lighter or darker than the base coat, can be any marking color on the Rixixi, can be any natural skin tone color, or can be any color on the base coat swatch. Teeth should match the color of the Rixixi's existing teeth.
  • The Closed Fringehead Variant is considered an extension/modification of the area around it - markings in the area can extend to this mutation.

Alternate design packs exist for this mutation:
Tuxedo Catfish Fringehead Design Pack

Whip Tail (X-WhipT) (Common)
