It's Meningitis Survival Day again! Or, it will be in a few hours.

(For the newbies, I - Anarchisme - had viral meningitis on July 4th 2014, so now I celebrate that instead of the regular american 4th of july. Back when I had meningitis, I was working on designs for the bots that would become Mechanix, specifically fireworks designs, and so the last couple of years have been fireworks mechanix design raffles.)

This year, we've got a guard up for raffle! The raffle lasts from July 4th. 2023 to July 18th, 2023 (site time).

The clean water washed through Mina's gills, pulling oxygen into their vents. They blinked sand out of their eyes as they neared a sunken chest. It was pristine, almost too much so. Like it had been set up here as a message. Pondering, but excited, the dwarf primal popped out a claw, reaching the hooked nail in to press on cylinders and tumblers. Slowly, they tapped their way in, and the chest creaked open, releasing a flood of bubbles and loose coins upward.

Mina's heart pounded. They had never seen insignias like this on coins. Was it from a civilization long past? They took one in their mouth as the metal scattered around them, their tail smacking through the chest and knocking coins asunder, and rushed to the surface.

"Aurri!" Mina cried as they surfaced, warm air rushing into their vents unhindered by water.

The red Rixixi, lounging on their back in the water, turned to face the treasure hunter. "To face" was an inaccuracy - they simply spun around and turned their head upside down, barely keeping their eyes above water. Aurri gave a grin as Mina paddled forward, placing the coin on their chest.

"You're from ancient times. Who made this?"

Summer Changelog

• This Spring's new starter is Mina, the treasure hunting diver! They have three new genes for us!
• New gene: Cenote, it's water skypunch. Can we get fire skypunch? I don't have a name for it. (Suggested by iiixkitsunexiii )
• New gene: Boar, based on stripes in baby wild pigs! (Suggested by CosmicShenanigans , originally called Tapir in suggestions)
• New gene: Sprinkles, an any-color Ticking (Suggested by pokeapache )
• There's a hub on dA as usual!
• The seasonal Raid has rolled over, and another strange creature from the Couloir has appeared - the Bombardier. We've got a dragon on our hands.

Everything should be rolled over, if you see something mentioning a season that's not summer let me know!

As a reminder, there's a Semi and MYO sale going on! Funds go to keeping Chasmho.me running!

Multispecies news

Heyo! Pride Month has started, and so the Pride Month Event is open for all Chasmhome species, including sapient open species as long as you have a reference! The rewards for the event are primarily Rixixi-related, but if you enter the group image with a B-NOMALY, you'll be granted tokens when the full image goes up. c:

Everything is pretty much the same as last year, except we've got a little bit of lore about early Rixixi and humans working together in protests - feel free to check that out on the Pride landing page! Nothing has changed about entry requirements or anything, though.

If you need some added time to get your entry done, please feel free to ask and I'll drop a week or two on the due date. Otherwise, it's June 1, 2023 - June 30 2023 (eastern time)! Have fun!

ALSO! This is just a reminder that the Semi and MYO sale is up if you're interested in getting anything! We're funding the web hosting for chasmho.me itself, mostly! If you can spare anything, we'd appreciate it, thanks!

Hey! This is about the upcoming semi/myo/etc sale! It was supposed to happen on the 5th, but amnesia happened and I kind of forgot that May was an important month? I'm really sorry! Anyways, it's going to happen on May 15th now, and will be running until end of day July 15th, so heads up, get ready!

This was the last Semi/MYO sale, if you want to check prices! Things should be roughly the same, except there'll be more starters to pick from and guards will be available in the mechanix packs.

The eggs have been removed from the site! I hope you had fun finding them! If you're still seeing eggs on anything other than the event page, please let me know, that shouldn't be happening?

The Fool raffle has been rolled, and Fey is the winner! Congratulations, enjoy your new guard!

I hope you all enjoy making guards! If you found all 8 eggs, you have enough items to make a Guard and a chip through Crafting! If you didn't find all the eggs, there are more ways to get guards (this was mentioned in the previous news!). If you don't like guards, hopefully there'll be something for you coming up in the future!

The Authorities have invited Mesmerize and FRIED MEME to check out something new and special! It's a new subtype of Mechanix, the Guards! Read more at the hub!

I've actually wanted to release these since the first Robot Uprising so it's exciting to have them out now!

The event has the usual scavenger hunt, a prompt, and some bonus eggs if you do a couple specific things in April! Check it out! There's also a raffle, with tickets hidden somewhere (it's a couple of the eggs). The raffle is for The Fool, a tarot-themed Guard:

You can get up to two tickets for the raffle!

Guards have a different base than regular Mechanix but can otherwise be crafted normally, with a pelt and a chip (chip actually optional, if you don't use a chip you get the Guard Dog chip skill for free). The base can be obtained through Crafting, Scientific Analysis, and the Chasm Egg Shop!

OH ALSO - The Dwarf Primal Illusionate-Glass Core is finally up! It's in the Chasm Egg shop and the Karma shop! Enjoy your small alt forms!

As a reminder, Anarchisme will be undergoing top surgery on April 5th and so some things will be temporarily slow after that point. No clue how long recovery will be but Anar will probably be bored without rolling things.

A figure stalked through the grasses. Small enough to stay low in the tall stalks, the hunter made their way towards the noise ahead of them. The clamor, the din. They didn't know what lay in store for them. They didn't know what watched them in the shadows beneath the trees. Slowly, the beast dodged twigs and dead leaves, debris left over from the autumn past. Slowly, they sought their target. Quickly, they pounced.

"Prairie!" Serritana's voice rang out. "No! Absolutely not! Get down!"

The Dwarf Primal, called out by name, sat innocently on the flower-seller's shelves, a bouquet stowed neatly in their mouth.. The Wandering Willow stood, tapping her foot, pointing at the stall firmly. Clearly she wanted it back, and they had been caught. The mighty hunter opened their mouth unceremoniously, dropping the flowers back to the stall, before slinking off without a word, looking over their shoulder again at the colorful display.

They would be back.

I'll do my best to be here when I can but like I might need to chill. Sorry in advance!
