Traits

Tendrils (+X-Ten) (Uncommon)

Species: Rixixi

Tentacles sprout from various places on the Rixixi. Very strange.

  • Can be any color lighter or darker than the base coat, can be any marking color on the Rixixi, can be any natural skin tone color, or can be any color on the base coat swatch.
  • Markings in the area can extend to this mutation.

Split Ears (+X-SplitE) (Uncommon)

Species: Rixixi

Another pair of ears joins the main one.

  • Markings in the area can extend to this mutation.

Sleipnir (+X-Slei) (Uncommon)

Species: Rixixi

An extra pair of arms splits off at the elbow!

  • Markings in the area can extend to this mutation. Markings that cover limbs can also affect Sleipnir.
  • Mutations that appear on the limbs can show on Sleipnir. They can be added without a Mutation Station.
  • Additional limb pairs can be added.
  • Sleipnir can add extra thumbs without the need of Polydactyl (+PlyD).

Alternate design packs exist for this mutation:
Starters' Starter Pack

Cerberus (+X-Cerb) (Uncommon)

Species: Rixixi

Three heads are better than one.

  • Markings in the area can extend to this mutation. Any markings that affect the head can appear on the Cerberus heads as usual. The additional heads do not have to copy the markings or mutations of the original head.
  • If a marking has its range on the head or neck (for example, Hood, Panda, or Procyonid), it only has to appear on one head - it is not mandatory for it to appear on all three. Similarly, mutations that appear on the head (eg. Horns, Whorl, Fringehead) do not have to appear on all heads, or can appear differently on each head.
  • Not all mutations are in the Cerberus base - I'm sorry, the file is huge. Most of the missing mutations are lineart edits or teeth. If you have a mutation that doesn't appear in the Cerberus base, you can freely add it without a Mutation Station.
  • Cerberus heads can be amputated with a Void Poison or 2x Scarification Kit. At least one head should remain on the body unless the Rixixi is a Ghost or Dullahan.
  • More heads can be added with a Mutation Station.

Cerberus has its own mutation packs:
Standard Cerberus
Primal Cerberus
Domestic Cerberus

Many Eyes (+X-EyeM) (Uncommon)

Species: Rixixi

Many, many eyes...

  • Can optionally match the color of the main pair of eyes, but does not have to, as heterochromia is free to use.
  • Does have to match any existing eye color rules (such as from albinism).
  • Does have to match the existing rules on pupil shape (must match the shape of an existing earth animal if not using contact lenses - something strange like a cuttlefish is fine!)

Mandible Fangs (+X-Man) (Uncommon)

Species: Rixixi

Big, hard protrusions at the side of the mouth. Can be used for grabbing things harder, or just looking scary.

  • Can be any color lighter or darker than the base coat, can be any marking color on the Rixixi, can be any natural skin tone color, or can be any color on the base coat swatch.
  • Markings in the area can extend to this mutation.

Insect Wings (+X-InWing) (Uncommon)

Species: Rixixi

Delicate bug wings sprout from the Ixi's back!

  • Insect wings' base color must be one of the following:
                • Off-white or white
                • A tint of the Ixi's blood color
                • The base coat
  • Markings appear on them like any other wing - they are considered an extra appendage and markings in-range can spread to them. Markings that cover points can treat wings as if they were another limb.
  • The opacity of this mutation can be freely altered as long as the mutation is still clearly visible.
  • You can customize the wings into the shape of pretty much any bug's. For insects with elytra, you need the Shield Wings mutation.
  • If the Rixixi also has Sylvan, the Insect Wings can take on Sylvan's patterns.

Combining Wing Types

If you have multiple wing types on a geno, you're allowed to have a pair of both of them display without having Archangel present.

Incense (+X-Inc) (Uncommon)

Species: Rixixi

Smoke gathers around the Ixi, emanating from points on its body. Often scented.

  • Can be any color. Is typically bright, but does not have to be.
  • The opacity of this mutation can be freely altered as long as the mutation is still clearly visible.

Hooves (+X-Hoo) (Uncommon)

Species: Rixixi

Not the average Ixi's footprint, that's for sure.

  • Can be any color lighter or darker than the base coat, can be any marking color on the Rixixi, can be any natural skin tone color, or can be any color on the base coat swatch.
  • Markings in the area can extend to this mutation.

Halos (+X-Halo) (Uncommon)

Species: Rixixi

Floating, glowing symbols around the Ixi's body.

  • Can be freely drawn by the designer rather than using the template. This does not require a mutation station.
  • Can be any color - typically bright, though this is not a requirement.
  • Can appear anywhere on the body.

Gecko Tail (+X-Gecko) (Uncommon)

Species: Rixixi

The tail is thick, short, and reptilian. Detaching and regrowing the tail is possible for some Rixixi with this mutation.

  • Markings in the area can extend to this mutation.

Presentation with Contradicting Mutations:

Multiple Tail Mutations:

When multiple tail mutations present in the same geno without Multi Tail, any of the following approaches can be taken:

-The tails can be edited so that they all appear at once. As long as the tails appear at roughly their original size and shape, no Mutation Station is required. Lenience is given for size/shape here, as tails may need to be shrunk to better show the other tails, etc.

-Parts of the tails can be taken and pieced together into one tail - eg. Mackerel's fins on a Whip Tail, a Tail Spike on a Bushy Tail, etc. A mutation station is only required here for heavy customization.

-One tail can show, leaving other tails in the geno as invisible carriers. All tails in the geno can still pass in breeding, but they do not have to show in the design if there's just too many tails to work with.

Flat Teeth (+X-Flat) (Uncommon)

Species: Rixixi

Instead of a typical Rixixi's dentition, this Ixi has mutated to have a set of completely flat teeth.

  • Should match the color of the Rixixi's existing teeth.

Presentation with Contradicting Mutations:

Flat Teeth and Sharps:

When multiple full sets of teeth appear in the mouth, any of the following approaches can be taken:

-The teeth can be modified so that part of the mouth has Flat Teeth and part of the mouth has Sharps. This does not take a mutation station.

-One tooth trait can show, leaving other tooth traits in the geno as invisible carriers. All genes can still pass in breeding, but they do not have to show in the design.

Dullahan (+X-Dulla) (Uncommon)

Species: Rixixi
Dullahan is a physical mutation that allows the head, limbs, and/or tail to detach and float separate from the Rixixi. The body should remain in place. Due to the odd cutaway shape of this mutation, there is no base for Dullahan - it should be made by the designer. It can appear fairly uniquely as a result, as long as it follows the rules outlined in this guide.

Basic rules:

  • The torso of the Rixixi must always remain untouched by Dullahan. This only applies to what parts can be detached - scars, cutaways, etc. can be left on the torso to imply that a body part should be there or was once there, if desired.
  • Any appendage, including appendages added by mutations, along with heads and tails, can be detached, as long as they originate on the torso.
  • 75% of the body must still remain on the import. Dullahan can be used to completely remove some of the floating parts (eg: a headless Rixixi), but the Rixixi cannot be a completely disembodied torso. Even if all appendages are floating, several should be visible on the import.
  • Any cutaways showing the inside of the body must stay fairly cartoony - no gore, at least on the masterlist. Your own art can get more graphic so long as the proper filters are applied, but we're trying to avoid having to apply mature filters on magmatixi is all.
  • You can now freely float body parts other than the appendages, as long as at least one of the regular appendages is detached - portions of the torso are still not allowed, but floating the ears off the head, a tail spike off the tail, hands, etc. The frill off the back is legal to float with a mutation station despite its placement on the torso. Take care not to mix this up with Problems - don't float internal body parts out of the body. I don't like that that's a completely normal thing that I've typed.
  • Scars can be added without Scarification Kits on Dullahan-altered zones only!

Examples:

Basic floating head

Make sure to not be too graphic with cutaways, but they can take on altered blood colors!

Scars localized to floating head zone

Sharps (+X-Sharp) (Uncommon)

Species: Rixixi

My, what sharp teeth you have! Almost like a shark.

Misplaced Eyes (+X-EyePl) (Uncommon)

Species: Rixixi

Pretty sure eyes don't go there. Sometimes causes the Rixixi's eyes to simply not show up in the correct placement.

  • Can optionally remove the main pair of eyes without the use of a Mutation Station.

Multi Tail (+X-MulT) (Uncommon)

Species: Rixixi

Multiple tails! If the Ixi has a different tail trait than default, such as Whip or Bushy, those can display multiples without a Mutation Station!

  • Markings in the area can extend to this mutation.
  • The Ixi can display multiple tails of any tails that it has the genes for - be it the default tail or any mutated tails.
  • If the Ixi has multiple tail types in its genotype, all of them can display as multiple, or just one.
  • Tails can be moved around, modified in size and shape, merged, and otherwise tweaked to better show this trait however the designer wants. A mutation station is only required here for heavy customization.

Prehensile Tail (X-PrehT) (Uncommon)

Species: Rixixi

A long, strong tail, capable of grasping and holding things. Curls in on itself in a resting position.

  • Markings in the area can extend to this mutation.

Alternate design packs exist for this mutation:
Starters' Starter Pack

Presentation with Contradicting Mutations:

Multiple Tail Mutations:

When multiple tail mutations present in the same geno without Multi Tail, any of the following approaches can be taken:

-The tails can be edited so that they all appear at once. As long as the tails appear at roughly their original size and shape, no Mutation Station is required. Lenience is given for size/shape here, as tails may need to be shrunk to better show the other tails, etc.

-One tail can show, leaving other tails in the geno as invisible carriers. All tails in the geno can still pass in breeding, but they do not have to show in the design if there's just too many tails to work with.

Problems (+X-Prob) (Uncommon)

Species: Rixixi

An aura of internal organs (or, in some cases, other internal body parts) hovers around the Rixixi. This is surprisingly safe for the Ixi's health in most cases, but is often described as "eerie" to "kind of horrifying" by well-intentioned neighbors.

  • As the "Problems" mutation is free-floating, this mutation pack is unique in that all pieces of it can be moved around the body freely without a Mutation Station. Some pieces may need slight editing if moved due to their default positions being drawn to accommodate the Rixixi's body.
  • All pieces can be recolored as desired. Unless altered by a mutation, flesh/organ (brain) should be within reasonable flesh colors, bone/teeth should be believable as a bone color (discoloration is absolutely allowed, paint would have to be applied via cosmetics, etc.), and eye color is unlimited - iris and pupil can, in fact, be completely redrawn by the artist instead of using the provided base if desired. Pupil should resemble some form of earth animal, even "exotic" pupils like that of a cuttlefish.
  • The designer can choose any amount of "organ sets" to display - all 5 do not have to display as in the preview above, it is perfectly fine to select a single type (eg, an Ixi with only floating eyes or skulls as their expression of Problems), or a combination of several (eg, eyes, teeth, and brains).
  • If using a Mutation Station, other sets of internal organs/bones/etc can be chosen to float outside the Rixixi, but be mindful to not include any sexual imagery or excessive gore. If using organs, they should appear fairly "clean" (not dripping with blood, full of realistic veins, etc). Imports should not need a mature filter.

Problems has its own mutation packs:
Standard Problems
Primal Problems
Domestic Problems

Rows (+X-Row) (Uncommon)

Species: Rixixi

Rows and rows of teeth.

  • Should match the color of the Rixixi's existing teeth.
  • If the Rixixi has multiple teeth mutations, the Rows can pick from any one.

Sphynx (+Sphy) (Uncommon)

Species: Rixixi

Bald is a fashion statement.

Sphynx is far from just a lineart edit, coming with several design options you can use if you like.

  • Along with using your base coat as usual, a Sphynx Rixixi can have a 'base coat' of any legal skin tone - this includes natural mammal skin tones (including chow blue), lighter/darker than base, or any color found in their markings.
  • If using a skin color instead of a regular base coat color: Lighter/Darker than base markings can use the skin color or the base coat.
  • As skin can legally have spotting on it: Some minor spotting is legal on Sphynx Rixixi, but it's best to keep it from being too extensive - consider it several instances of the free mark Birthmark, not to be confused with Inkblot.
  • Flourish can display anywhere on the body.
  • Lava Lamp does not need to appear translucent.
Sauttun 0500
Sauttun uses a natural skin tone as their base coat, but their Mojave references darker-than-base arctic. They also have minor birthmark-esque spotting on their thigh and upper arm as well as Flourish on their face and neck (under all other markings, in gold).

Sphynx's bases can be found here:
Standard Sphynx
Primal Sphynx
Domestic Sphynx
Funerary Sphynx
Dwarf Primal Sphynx

ONLY ONE UNCOMMON- OR COMBINATION- RARITY FUR LENGTH MUTATION CAN DISPLAY AT ONCE! (Common rarity fur length mutations display on part of the body instead of the full body.)
Most Fur Length mutations cover the full body and cannot naturally combine (without being a combination mutation). If a Rixixi carries two (or more), they can display one and carry the other.
