You make your way into the brightly-colored crack in reality, making sure to focus so that it doesn’t immediately whisk you away somewhere else. Inside, you find a very difficult to describe world. It could possibly be described as something combining a throat and a hallway - definitely a long route meant for transportation, but the abstract coloration and shape make it hard to tell whether it’s taking you somewhere safe or into a metaphorical (or literal) belly of a beast.

The path forks, and reluctantly, you place your paw on the wall, turning [[left/right]]. The texture is similar to stone, but you swear it feels alive despite that.

As you head deeper down into this cave of color, you eventually recoil as the wall changes from smooth to decidedly fleshy. No doubt about it, the world around you is a living thing. You’re considering turning around and leaving when you see a silhouette out of the corner of your vision. There’s some sort of shambling creature there, snarling and gurgling, but not moving any further towards you. Despite your better judgement, you move closer slowly, wincing as the floor below you also changes in texture.

You look to the trapped monster first, and immediately wish you hadn’t - its frill not alien enough to ignore. It’s been wrapped up in some kind of organic tendrils - maybe some kind of parasitic creature that lives in the Chasm and traps its prey to eat slowly - and it’s suffering, mutating terribly from the radiation in here as it’s living an awful, slow end of its life.

It can’t see you, but it’s heard you approach. Before it lies a makeshift weapon, something it likely came in with before it was trapped. It places its free foot on the object, sliding it closer to you.

It nods. It’s okay.

You raise the makeshift weapon, and bring it down quickly. You don’t want it to suffer anymore. You’re pretty sure this was a person once. You hack away at the tendrils, pulling the “monster” out of their grasp and dragging them to the stony texture not too far away. You’re about to leave when the fallen “creature” grabs your hand with the last of their strength. Fearing an attack, you jump a bit, whirling around, but they aren’t hostile. They hand you a scrap of clothing. You take it to the surface - proof that they met their end in this eldritch place.

You stumble as something falls from the scrap of clothes. Picking it up towards yourself as things spill further, you manage to stop several items before they fall back into the closing rift.
