Drake Scales is a physical mutation that alters the texture of parts of the Ixi - as such, markings and the base coat should show 'through' it, appearing mostly the same as they would without Drake Scales. The appearance of the markings can change somewhat due to Drake Scales in a few ways:
- Markings can distort to match the shape of the scales, and stretch (even slightly out of range - but this should be slight) to make sense with Drake Scales that break the original lineart.
- A shine can be applied to the scales.
Custom Drake Scales:
Mutation Stations can change the placement of Drake Scales on the body, and increase or decrease them. Drake Scales are considered a 3D and physical mutation and can break lineart.
- Drake Scales should be visible no matter what.
- Drake Scales can be increased to the point that they cover the entire body - this would require 3 Mutation Stations due to fullbody coverage, but it's legal.
Drake Scales and Scaled (nScl/SclScl):
Scaled is considered 2D and a marking but can be headcanoned freely as actual scales (just flatter in texture as far as import art goes). Drake Scales, even when custom, should remain 3D in texture and stand out as a physical mutation.
When appearing together, they can appear completely separate, and/or Scaled can combine with Drake Scales to color them in part or full.
