Traits

Bushy Tail (+X-BushT) (Common)

Species: Rixixi

A medium-sized, fluffy tail, often compared to a fox's!

  • Markings in the area can extend to this mutation.

Presentation with Contradicting Mutations:

Multiple Tail Mutations:

When multiple tail mutations present in the same geno without Multi Tail, any of the following approaches can be taken:

-The tails can be edited so that they all appear at once. As long as the tails appear at roughly their original size and shape, no Mutation Station is required. Lenience is given for size/shape here, as tails may need to be shrunk to better show the other tails, etc.

-Parts of the tails can be taken and pieced together into one tail - eg. Mackerel's fins on a Whip Tail, a Tail Spike on a Bushy Tail, etc. A mutation station is only required here for heavy customization.

-One tail can show, leaving other tails in the geno as invisible carriers. All tails in the geno can still pass in breeding, but they do not have to show in the design if there's just too many tails to work with.

Feathered Tail (X-FeaT) (Common)

Species: Rixixi

A tuft of feathers covers the very base of the Ixi's tail.

  • Markings in the area can extend to this mutation.
  • Unlike other Tail mutations, Feathered Tail does not replace the existing tail, but instead lays on top of it. Multiple Scarification Kits (or a Void Poison) are required to amputate the non-feathered tail.

Gallus Face (+X-GallF) (Common)

Species: Rixixi

A rooster-like comb and wattle.

  • Can be any color lighter or darker than the base coat, can be any marking color on the Rixixi, can be any natural skin tone color, or can be any color on the base coat swatch.
  • Markings in the area can extend to this mutation.
  • A Scarification Kit can amputate the comb or the wattle, but one of the features should still be visible. (For example. the Pig Farmer only has wattles.)
  • A Mutation Station can change the shape into any sort of crest or wattle - this is not limited to rooster-like shapes or even avian shapes. Any sort of crest - even those found in dinosaurs, or fantasy versions thereof - works when making a mutation station edit to Gallus combs. Any sort of dewlap or wattle, including those of mammals and reptiles, works for the wattle piece.

Lop Ears (+X-LopE) (Common)

Species: Rixixi

Long ears that flop down by default. Some Ixi can hold them up to listen in better, but at rest they flop back down.

  • Markings in the area can extend to this mutation.

Presentation with Contradicting Mutations:

Lop Ears and Perky Ears:

When Lop and Perky Ears both present in the same geno, any of the following approaches can be taken:

-Both ear types appear at once, the Rixixi has four ears whether or not they have the Split Ear mutation.

-The Rixixi can have long ears with a semi-pricked or button ear shape.  Let 'em stick up and flop forward a bit.
There currently is not a design pack for this, and would need to be custom-made. This would not require a mutation station.

-The Rixixi can have one ear up and one ear down.

Perky Ears (X-PerkE) (Common)

Species: Rixixi

Long, perky ears!

  • Markings in the area can extend to this mutation.

Presentation with Contradicting Mutations:

Phoenix Trails (+X-PhoeT) (Common)

Species: Rixixi

Long feathers sprout from the Ixi, often centering just above the tail in a decorative display.

  • Markings in the area can extend to this mutation.
  • A  Mutation Station can change the shape into any sort of decorative feathers - for example, a crest on the head, long plumes decorating the body or face, and so on. Tropical birds and peacocks are good sources of inspiration, but anything flashy and showy works well for Phoenix Trails, and it doesn't have to be found on a real bird.

Pouch (+X-Pou) (Common)

Species: Rixixi

A marsupial-like pouch. Fairly durable.

  • Pouch is a lineart edit - markings work normally underneath it.
  • As it is incredibly easy for Pouch to be covered up by other mutations, especially on the Primal base, it is completely within reason to move the lines around to keep them visible.

Four Eyes (+X-EyeF) (Common)

Species: Rixixi

An extra pair of eyes sprout over the Ixi's main pair.

  • Can optionally match the color of the main pair of eyes, but does not have to, as heterochromia is free to use.
  • Does have to match any existing eye color rules (such as from albinism).
  • Does have to match the existing rules on pupil shape (must match the shape of an existing earth animal if not using contact lenses - something strange like a cuttlefish is fine!)

Tongue Teeth (+X-TnTth) (Common)

Species: Rixixi

A barbed tongue.

  • May be the color of the Rixixi's existing teeth, or the color of the gums/tongue.
  • Comes with an optional shine layer, and can freely have shading added!

Triple Snooter (X-Snoot) (Common)

Species: Rixixi

Three pairs of nostrils! Take time to smell the roses.

  • Triple Snooter is a lineart edit - markings work normally underneath it.
  • Lines can be moved around slightly to line up better with other mutations. Heavy lineart customization requires a Mutation Station.
  • A Mutation Station can be used on Triple Snooter for alternate nostril positions, such as something like a snake's pit organs.

Whip Tail (X-WhipT) (Common)

Species: Rixixi

A long tail with a tuft of fur at the end.

  • The Fur Tuft can be any color lighter or darker than the base coat, can be any marking color on the Rixixi, can be any natural skin tone color, or can be any color on the base coat swatch.
  • Markings in the area can extend to this mutation.

Archangel (+X-Arch) (Uncommon)

Species: Rixixi

Many wings. The most common presentation is an ethereal, swirly trail of feathered wings, but if the Rixixi has another Wing gene, that gene can present as having multiples of that type. (see Mutation Design Guides for more information)

  • Wings are considered an extra appendage and markings in-range can spread to them. Markings that cover points can treat wings as if they were another limb.
  • If Archangel is present with another wing type, you can have multiple pairs of the non-Archangel wing type. You can also combine the default Archangel wing with other wing types. The additional wings can be edited in size without use of a mutation station so long as the general shape remains unedited.

Cerberus (+X-Cerb) (Uncommon)

Species: Rixixi

Three heads are better than one.

  • Markings in the area can extend to this mutation. Any markings that affect the head can appear on the Cerberus heads as usual. The additional heads do not have to copy the markings or mutations of the original head.
  • If a marking has its range on the head or neck (for example, Hood, Panda, or Procyonid), it only has to appear on one head - it is not mandatory for it to appear on all three. Similarly, mutations that appear on the head (eg. Horns, Whorl, Fringehead) do not have to appear on all heads, or can appear differently on each head.
  • Not all mutations are in the Cerberus base - I'm sorry, the file is huge. Most of the missing mutations are lineart edits or teeth. If you have a mutation that doesn't appear in the Cerberus base, you can freely add it without a Mutation Station.
  • Cerberus heads can be amputated with a Void Poison or 2x Scarification Kit. At least one head should remain on the body unless the Rixixi is a Ghost or Dullahan.
  • More heads can be added with a Mutation Station.

Cerberus has its own mutation packs:
Standard Cerberus
Primal Cerberus
Domestic Cerberus

Dullahan (+X-Dulla) (Uncommon)

Species: Rixixi
Dullahan is a physical mutation that allows the head, limbs, and/or tail to detach and float separate from the Rixixi. The body should remain in place. Due to the odd cutaway shape of this mutation, there is no base for Dullahan - it should be made by the designer. It can appear fairly uniquely as a result, as long as it follows the rules outlined in this guide.

Basic rules:

  • The torso of the Rixixi must always remain untouched by Dullahan. This only applies to what parts can be detached - scars, cutaways, etc. can be left on the torso to imply that a body part should be there or was once there, if desired.
  • Any appendage, including appendages added by mutations, along with heads and tails, can be detached, as long as they originate on the torso.
  • 75% of the body must still remain on the import. Dullahan can be used to completely remove some of the floating parts (eg: a headless Rixixi), but the Rixixi cannot be a completely disembodied torso. Even if all appendages are floating, several should be visible on the import.
  • Any cutaways showing the inside of the body must stay fairly cartoony - no gore, at least on the masterlist. Your own art can get more graphic so long as the proper filters are applied, but we're trying to avoid having to apply mature filters on magmatixi is all.
  • You can now freely float body parts other than the appendages, as long as at least one of the regular appendages is detached - portions of the torso are still not allowed, but floating the ears off the head, a tail spike off the tail, hands, etc. The frill off the back is legal to float with a mutation station despite its placement on the torso. Take care not to mix this up with Problems - don't float internal body parts out of the body. I don't like that that's a completely normal thing that I've typed.
  • Scars can be added without Scarification Kits on Dullahan-altered zones only!

Examples:

Basic floating head

Make sure to not be too graphic with cutaways, but they can take on altered blood colors!

Scars localized to floating head zone

Flat Teeth (+X-Flat) (Uncommon)

Species: Rixixi

Instead of a typical Rixixi's dentition, this Ixi has mutated to have a set of completely flat teeth.

  • Should match the color of the Rixixi's existing teeth.

Presentation with Contradicting Mutations:

Flat Teeth and Sharps:

When multiple full sets of teeth appear in the mouth, any of the following approaches can be taken:

-The teeth can be modified so that part of the mouth has Flat Teeth and part of the mouth has Sharps. This does not take a mutation station.

-One tooth trait can show, leaving other tooth traits in the geno as invisible carriers. All genes can still pass in breeding, but they do not have to show in the design.

Gecko Tail (+X-Gecko) (Uncommon)

Species: Rixixi

The tail is thick, short, and reptilian. Detaching and regrowing the tail is possible for some Rixixi with this mutation.

  • Markings in the area can extend to this mutation.

When multiple tail mutations present in the same geno without Multi Tail, any of the following approaches can be taken:
